Karel Skreta and his place in the Czech baroque graphics
Faltysová, Vítězslava ; Pučalík, Marek (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (referee)
The main subject of my thesis is a less known, however, quite comprehensive, field of Skreta's work - his engravings, produced according to his drawing concepts. In the first chapters I will introduce the baroque, Bohemian graphic art, its main personalities and the forms of creation. Furthermore, I will also specify the art forms in this specific field outside of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown with a particular emphasis on German geopolitical region. Based on this context, I will pay a detailed attention to a quite neglected, although highly inventive work of the famous painter Karel Skreta. Besides Karel Skreta, I will provide an analysis of the work of Martin Antonin Lublinsky, who was the most acknowledged inventor in the Moravian realm, and whose reputation in this area can not be marginalized by any means. Keywords Screta, baroque, graphics, Czech graphics
